Small-Group ATV Jungle Safari

About this experience

Bakkayaad Ja Adventures runs the Wah Gwaan Safari in Trelawny parish. A driver collects you from your hotel lobby, and guests say the commentary starts on the road. At the base you get a lesson on the ATV, pick a bike and head out with the guides.

The trail climbs through limestone hills, plantain and banana farms and cow pastures, with a stop by a river to cool your hands and feet. One guest mentions dipping in the Martha Brae with a fresh coconut; another says the route passes Usain Bolt's primary school and family home. The group is capped at 10 travellers, the smallest on this site.

It shares the top rating here, 4.9, with the Rastasafari day, for $36 less. Two things to know. Bottled water is not included. And the area is still recovering from Hurricane Melissa: a July 2026 guest wrote that the scenic overlook and swing are no longer there.

What guests say

★★★★★

Absolutely beautiful trail, lime stone mountains with natural spring water ponds, plantain trees and yes we saw Usain Bolts primary school and family home. Eve and staff were well informed of the history in the area. This was by far the best 4wheel trail I have experienced.

What a memorable experience we had. Iv never done ATV riding before and this was one of my favorite excursions. They were very friendly and we stopped at a different places to look at banana trees, rivers and really cool sightings.

Amazing! All the guys helping out were so great and supportive of each other to make sure all guests were safe and having a good time. It poured down rain yesterday but it made the ride so much more enjoyable to be honest

Tips before you book

  • Bring your own water: one guest was told at the base that it was not included.
  • Wear old shoes and clothes you don't mind muddy. Guests who rode in the rain in June and July said it added to the fun.
  • Pack a small towel for sweat and the river stop.
  • Ask for help if you're nervous: one guest's instructor rode with a group member who needed it.
