About this experience

This is the listing still called "Zipline, Tubing and ATV Safari Adventure from Montego Bay" in its web address. What it sells today is the Chukka Ocean Outpost All-Access Pass: the transfer collects you from a Montego Bay or Negril hotel, takes you west to Sandy Bay in Hanover, and drops you at a park where the activities run side by side. You get a safety briefing, then you choose.

On the pass: the Horseback Ride 'N' Swim, a zipline over the ocean with a splash landing, an ATV or dune buggy safari, the Party Catamaran cruise with a reef snorkel, and a truck safari. Between rounds there's an infinity pool with a swim-up bar, an overwater gazebo and an Appleton rum tasting room for over-18s. Ocean bamboo rafting costs US$10 extra, paid on arrival, according to Chukka's own pass page.

Three caveats. There is no river tubing: the water here is the sea, so book the Rio Bueno tubing trip on another day if tubing is the point. Activities run first come, first served, and guests warn that if the park is busy you may not get everything done. And lunch is not included; a Jamaican meal is sold on site.

How the day runs

1. 30 to 90 min beforeHotel pickup

   The time you choose at checkout is your arrival time at the park. Chukka's reservations team tells you your actual pickup time, 30 to 90 minutes earlier depending on the hotel.

2. After pickupTransfer to Sandy Bay

   To the Ocean Outpost at Sandy Bay in Hanover.

3. On arrivalBriefing and check-in

   A safety briefing and orientation. Rent a locker here if you need one (US$10).

4. Your pacePick your activities

   Zipline, ATV or buggy, horse swim, catamaran, snorkel, truck safari. Activities are first come, first served, so head first to the one you want most.

5. When you're hungryLunch and the pool

   Buy a Jamaican meal on site, then cool off in the infinity pool or the gazebo.

6. End of the dayTransfer back

   The transfer returns you to your hotel. The listing gives the whole day as 4 to 9 hours.

Tips before you book

• Pick the earliest arrival time you can. One guest who did every activity advised booking the earlier time, because more people arrive as the day goes on.
• Go straight to the activity you care about most, then work down the list.
• Bring your driving licence if you want to drive an ATV or buggy. No licence, no wheel.
• Chukka requires sneakers (closed toes are mandatory) or closed-toe water shoes for the horses, zipline, ATV and buggy.
